Playing a rather important role in America's early development Paterson was originally founded as the first planed industrial city, jump-starting the industrial revolution. Paterson is known as the "Silk City" for its international, dominant role in silk production during the latter half of the 19th century. It is the largest city in Passaic County, NJ where it holds the county seat. With a population of 150,000 people, it is the third largest city in New Jersey and has the second-highest density of any U.S. city over 100,000 people, behind only New York City.

The Task

We were contacted by the Paterson Mayor himself where he tasked us to develop a fresh new image for the city. We spoke about the city's current and future goals and discovered that the plan was to help create a Paterson brand for the purpose of attracting visitors and investors.

What We Did

We got right to work on forming a Logo true to Paterson's historical theme but with a modern feel. The logo was created in less than a weeks time then coupled with a slogan that was voted on by the citizens of Paterson through an online pole. Needless to say the Mayor, city officials, and residents where very happy with the results. We now continue to work closely with the city creating other logos and graphic elements that help to further develop their new brand image.
